JOB WATCH: Slow and Steady Growth

In August, the United States unemployment rate held steady at 4.9% and the economy added 151,000 jobs. Mid South states also saw steady, positive growth with the exception of Louisiana which lost 7,800 jobs over the course of August. Though rates did not decrease, unemployment remained level across all Mid South states last month.
