Decoding the MAEP Formula

The Mississippi Adequate Education Program (MAEP) is the formula established by the Mississippi State Legislature to provide “adequate operation funding levels” for public school districts and students to succeed. As the Legislature examines and proposes altering the funding mechanism, it may be helpful to revisit how the current formula is calculated. This infographic provides a quick and simplified look at how MAEP calculates district funding levels year to year.
